Food as Medicine—or Poison? | MAHA Monday

We’ve all heard that old saying, “Let food be thy medicine.”
But somewhere along the way, the “medicine” got tampered with. It’s been processed, sprayed, modified, and sold back to us in boxes with shiny labels — and we’re told it’s “Healthy.”

So, here’s the question I can’t stop asking:
If food is supposed to heal us, why are we sicker than ever?

The System Doesn’t Feed Us — It Farms Us

Once upon a time, food came from the earth — real soil, real seeds, real hands.
Now, it mostly comes from corporations.

They call it “the food industry,” but really, it’s a business model. And the business isn’t built to nourish us — it’s built to own us. The grocery aisle is just another branch of the same sickness economy that runs Big Pharma and Big Ag.

When toxic weed killers like glyphosate are found in children’s breakfast cereals¹ — and those same companies sell “health” products on the next aisle — it’s pretty clear the system isn’t feeding us. It’s farming us.

It’s a perfect circle of profit: feed people junk, make them sick, then sell them the “cure.”

What They Call “Nutrition” Is Often Just Marketing

Walk down any grocery aisle and look around. Everything screams “heart healthy,” “natural,” or “fortified.”
It’s clever branding — not truth.

Let’s be honest: if your food needs a marketing campaign, it’s probably not food.

Real food doesn’t shout. It doesn’t need a label to prove itself. A tomato doesn’t come with fine print.

But the fake stuff? That’s where you’ll find the fireworks — plant-based, enriched, zero fat, added vitamins. All the buzzwords that make us feel safe, while keeping us hooked.

What they really sell is convenience — but convenience always comes with a cost. Our energy, our immunity, our clarity — all traded for shelf life and “flavor.”

And here’s the kicker: those “flavors” are chemically designed to keep you wanting more. The industry literally hires neuroscientists to find your “bliss point” — that addictive edge where your brain lights up just enough to crave another bite. It’s not your willpower failing. It’s manipulation disguised as food.

The Ingredient List Tells the Truth

Let’s play a little game: next time you pick something off the shelf, flip it over.
If you can’t pronounce half of what’s in it — or if there’s more chemistry than kitchen — that’s your sign.

Sugar hides under 60+ different names. “Enriched flour” sounds wholesome, but it’s flour stripped bare and then “enriched” with lab-made nutrients.

Artificial dyes, preservatives, stabilizers — most banned in other countries — still line U.S. shelves.

Meanwhile, our energy drops. Our moods swing. Our kids struggle to focus. And doctors hand out pills instead of asking what’s on our plates.

We’ve been trained to see food as calories, not communication. But every bite is information.
Real food says heal. Processed food says survive.

And I don’t know about you, but I’m done just surviving.

Cooking Is the New Revolution

You want to fight back? Start with your kitchen.

Every time you chop an onion, stir a pot, or plant a seed, you’re taking your power back.
You’re breaking the system’s spell — one meal at a time.

Start small:

  • Swap one packaged food you buy every week for something whole.
  • Grow one edible thing, even if it’s just basil on your windowsill.
  • Buy from a local farmer — someone whose hands still touch the soil.

Cooking isn’t just about food. It’s about remembering who we are. It’s a love story between you and your body.
